Our online Menopause Yoga workshops have been created to support any woman who is going through the menopause and experiencing any of the many – often debilitating – symptoms.
Over half the population are affected by the menopause yet many feel alone, unheard & unsupported.
Our Menopause Yoga online workshops are a great step forward in helping you manage your menopause symptoms. Our workshops include not just a 90 minute yoga session where you’ll learn simple but powerful tools to bring instant relief to your symptoms and an opportunity to listen & share – if you wish – your menopause experience with other women in a safe & supportive environment, but you’ll receive a comprehensive list of excellent science-backed resources that you can research in your own time so that you feel informed and empowered when seeking help from your healthcare professional.

Although the menopause is rarely talked about, every woman will go through it at some stage. Typically, menopause begins anytime from 40 years of age and can last into our 50’s and beyond with a variety of symptoms appearing throughout this time.
Some women experience mild symptoms whilst others, their symptoms have such a dramatic impact on their lives, they loose confidence and feel unable to cope with the simplest of tasks.
The key to transitioning smoothly through menopause is to feel in control of the journey by seeking professional health advice & creating your own bespoke menopause action plan.

Menopause can be hard to live with both for you & those around you. However our workshops aim to give you the confidence to speak up and discuss your symptoms & treatment options with your healthcare professional whilst teaching you some carefully chosen yoga & breathing techniques that can be practiced again & again whenever needed.

What is Menopause Yoga?
Menopause Yoga has been created after years of research by experienced yoga teacher Petra Coveney who is a member of the British Menopause Society. Her Menopause Yoga Teacher Training programme has been accredited by both the British Wheel of Yoga & Yoga Alliance and has been developed with the support of Dr Louise Newson, recognised as one of the UK’s leading menopause experts.
How can yoga help manage the menopause?
Fluctuating levels of oestrogen during menopause can trigger a variety of symptoms including hot flushes, night sweats, anxiety, low mood, meno-rage, sleep deprivation, joint stiffness, headaches, brain fog, thinning hair, dry skin, brittle nails & weight gain. Long term, low levels of oestrogen can increase the risk of developing certain diseases such as osteopenia and osteoporosis (brittle bones), sarcopenia (muscles loss) and a risk of cardio vascular disease.
A regular yoga practice that has been designed specifically to help women through the menopause will help build muscle flexibility & strength, aid with mobility, build bone strength, help calm anxiety & stress and aid a restful night sleep. However, the greatest benefits of yoga during the menopause will be found if it is included as part of a holistic approach to your health and wellbeing that includes nutrition, lifestyle and medical advice from your doctor and other health professionals.
At a Menopause Yoga workshop you will :
- Learn more about the menopause – the stages of, what’s happening in the body, what can aggravate symptoms and how yoga, meditation & breathwork can help
- Gain an understanding of the role oestrogen & progesterone play in your body
- Experience a 90-minute yoga session with specific yoga postures, breathing & meditation techniques to relieve your menopause symptoms
- Create more space & ease in your body & mind
- Learn how to relax deeply to help ease symptoms
- Discover what treatments are available from lifestyle changes to HRT and complementary holistic solutions
- Be given ‘signposts’ to more detailed factual information to research in your own time to further support & empower you with knowledge
- And, as many women say they feel unsupported & alone during their menopause, this workshop will include a safe & supportive virtual women’s ‘circle’ where you can share – if you wish – your menopause experiences & wisdom with other women going through this journey. This is a great opportunity to support & learn from each other & to ensure no-one feels alone.
